Everyone can turn a frown into a smile, and that is a wonderful sort of magic. This a fun poem with the opportunity to do lots of gestures.
WE CAN ALL DO MAGIC
by Michele Lourie
Pull a rabbit from a hat
Saw someone in half,
Swallow swords, just like that
To make the people laugh.
Disappear beneath the floor
Or inside a wizard’s cloak.
Then come right back through the door
In a giant puff of smoke.
We can all do magic
Turn things upside down.
We can all do magic
Make a smile our of a frown.
Now sit still, please don’t move,
Just listen to this rap.
I’m about to cast a magic spell
To make everybody …. CLAP.
