MY MOTHER IS A CLEAN FREAK
Michele Lourie c 2016
My mother is a clean freak
And that is just a fact!
Telling you seems awful
But it’s time for me to act.
I always help with washing up
The dishes every night
But can someone tell me how
You get white dishes more than white
Our chairs are wrapped in plastic
They get very hot and sticky.
You can’t sit down with shorts on
Or your legs become quite icky.
The floors are mopped and polished
And the windows sparkle bright,
You’d think the stove was never used,
And in that you would be right!
I’ve put up with this for many years
With never one complaint
But I’ve had enough, I have to say
I’m certainly no saint.
Mum says “Put on clean socks each day,”
Well, it’s time for me to speak
For how can I get my shoes to fit
Over 7 pairs of socks each week?
