Some brothers can be very annoying. But how much worse would it be if there was more than one – twins! 6 stanzas of 4 lines each.
I’M GRATEFUL
Michele Lourie c 2016
My little brother is a pest
He makes my life a pain
My parents cannot seem to see
That he’s driving me insane.
You’ll ask me – ‘Well, what does he do
To make you feel this way?’
I’ll tell you, if you’ve got a year
To listen to what I say.
He squirts his toothpaste everywhere
And leaves his clothes around,
He uses, then leaves my pencils
Where they never can be found.
He’s supposed to help me feed the dog,
Scrape plates and sweep the floor,
He never does, instead he always
Hides behind his door.
When I’m asked to babysit
It makes my blood run cold
‘Cos my brother does just what he wants
Never what he is told.
At least I can be grateful
That despite his many sins
My pesky, painful brother
Is not a pair of twins.
