A monster – with a strawberry growing on his head – comes to see the doctor. 1 stanza of 18 lines.
A STRAWBERRY
Michele Lourie c 2016
As a doctor treating monsters
I’ve seen some weird sights
Enough to give one nightmares
And keep me awake at nights.
But the strangest case I’ve treated
And I’m sure you will agree,
Was a monster in a panic
On his head was a strawberry.
It was growing very nicely
Despite the lack of dirt
“It suddenly appeared” he said
“And at least it doesn’t hurt.
But I don’t know what to do with it
So I thought I’d come to you.”
I kindly smiled and said “Well done,
I know just what to do.”
I went straight into my kitchen
To the fridge, then with a beam
I returned and presented the perfect cure,
A large bottle of fresh cream.
