A Hardy Breed

$3.00

An Outback poem about a stockman deciding his future on the land.

A Hardy Breed : 6 stanzas each of 4 lines about the fight of a man to save his land from the Bank.

The heat haze made the dead trees dance;
His heart was solid lead.
The rifle shot still hurt his ears;
The sheep was better dead.

He turned and squinted at the sky,
A cloudless sun-bleached blue.
Then gazed about his hell-hazed land
And wondered what to do.
