The Cold Snap : 17 stanzas each of 4 lines of another old Bob’s tall tales about the coldest time of his life.
Old Bob had caught us once again
But we really didn’t mind
The tales he told were interesting
More so if you were “blind”.
“Now listen boys” the old bloke said,
In a voice both loud and clear
“And I’ll tell you all about the time
I was colder than this beer.
We’d been pushing cattle through the heat
And were setting up the camp
But the sky had warned us that by dark
We’d be either cold or damp.
Yet the cold came on so suddenly
It took our breath away
I swear it came as such a shock
It turned Jack’s hair quite grey.
