Bush Olympics

$3.00

A Tall Tale poem about an Outback Olympics.

Bush Olympics : 13 stanzas each of 4 lines about a disastrous effort at Bush Olympics.

The rains had come and filled the creek

And flooded half the districts

So Stumpy said, “We can’t shear now.

Let’s have a Bush Olympics!

So first we’ll go down to the dam,

It’s filled to overflowin’,

We’ll disconnect the pumping raft

And start right off with rowin’.”

Well none of us had rowed a boat;

Of that, you can be certain.

We had to use two spades to row

And soon our arms were hurtin’.

So when we’d lost a dozen spades

And with splinters in our bums,

Old Stumpy said, “Let’s call it quits;

We should’ve used oil drums.
