The Derelict

$3.00

A poem showing our lack of care for people in hard times.

The Derelict : 9 stanzas each of 4 lines about the character inside what is now a derelict.

I’ve seen him many times before
And at each time looking worse.
As if gradually succumbing
To an ancient, deadly curse.

His skin is loosely propped about
By a thin array of bones
Protected by his filthy clothes…
They’re the only things he owns.
